Moqui Marbles are powerful Shaman Stones and are also known as Mochi Marbles, Thunderballs, Navajo berries, Hopi marbles and Shamanic Star Stones. Moqui Marbles are composed of iron oxide and sandstone that formed underground when iron minerals precipitated from flowing groundwater. They occur in many places in southern Utah either embedded in or gathered loosely into “puddles” on the ground near outcrops of Jurassic age Navajo Sandstone.
Legend says the departed ancestors of the Hopi Indians played marble games in the evening when Spirits are allowed to visit the earth. As the sun rises, they return to the heavens and leave the marbles behind to let relatives know they are well and happy. Keeping moqui marbles in the home is considered a sign of welcome to one’s ancestors.
Although these stones may seem unassuming, they are actually quite powerful. A wonderful companion to have while doing any astral traveling or out of body work, as they are highly protective and will not allow any negative entities to attach to your astral form while you are away from your physical body.
It is said that by gently grinding a set together in that fashion, you are entraining yourself to hear on a higher vibratory level. Being able to hear on a higher level will allow you to hear messages from your higher self or guides much easier.
Their energy will aid you to be aware of the approach of totem animals and spirit guides, and they may potentially put you in contact with extra-terrestrial beings.
They will help you to become aware of parts of yourself that may be hidden, and that are remnants of a past life in ancient times.
These stones display definite male and female vibrations. Many people determine if the Moqui Ball is male or female by the outward appearance. If the skin is smooth it is female and rough is male. Others say the female stone is round and the male is disk shaped. There is merit to either observation. When used for balancing, the female stone is placed in the left hand and the male stone in the right.
